Immunometabolism in the Tumor Microenvironment

چکیده

Advances in immunotherapy have underscored the importance of antitumor immune responses controlling cancer. However, tumor microenvironment (TME) imposes several obstacles to proper function cells, including a metabolically challenging and immunosuppressive microenvironment. The increased metabolic activity cells can lead depletion key nutrients required by accumulation byproducts that hamper immunity. Furthermore, presence suppressive such as regulatory T myeloid-derived suppressor expression inhibitory receptors negatively impact cell metabolism function. This review summarizes reprogramming is characteristic various subsets, discusses how are shaped TME, highlights therapeutic interventions aimed at improving fitness alleviating constraints TME boost

Targeting T Cell Immunometabolism for Cancer Immunotherapy; Understanding the Impact of the Tumor Microenvironment

The immune system has a key role to play in controlling cancer initiation and progression. T cell activation, which is central to anti-tumor immune responses, coincides with changes in cellular metabolism. Naïve T cells predominantly require an ATP generating metabolic profile, whereas proliferating effector T cells require anabolic metabolic profiles that promote rapid growth and proliferation...

A Mimic of the Tumor Microenvironment on GPR30 Gene Expression in Breast Cancer

Introduction: The G-protein coupled receptor 30 (GPR30) gene is a member of the G-protein coupled receptor (GPCR) family; involved in breast, endometrial, and ovarian cancers. Many GPCR receptors that are implicated in several types of human cancers are correlated with increased cell proliferation and tumor progression; especially GPR30 gene. Methods: The breast cancer MCF-7 and MDA-MB-231 cel...

Tumor Microenvironment in the Brain

In addition to malignant cancer cells, tumors contain a variety of different stromal cells that constitute the tumor microenvironment. Some of these cell types provide crucial support for tumor growth, while others have been suggested to actually inhibit tumor progression. The composition of tumor microenvironment varies depending on the tumor site. The brain in particular consists of numerous ...

The brain tumor microenvironment.

High-grade brain tumors are heterogeneous with respect to the composition of bona fide tumor cells and with respect to a range of intermingling parenchymal cells. Glioblastomas harbor multiple cell types, some with increased tumorigenicity and stem cell-like capacity. The stem-like cells maybe the cells of origin for tumor relapse. However, the tumor-associated parenchymal cells such as vascula...

Targeting the tumor microenvironment.

Despite some notable successes cancer remains, for the most part, a seemingly intractable problem. There is, however, a growing appreciation that targeting the tumor epithelium in isolation is not sufficient as there is an intricate mutually sustaining synergy between the tumor epithelial cells and their surrounding stroma. As the details of this dialogue emerge, new therapeutic targets have be...
